OTS Recovers LiDAR Buoy, Performs Site Clearance Survey for OSW Developer
Following a 4-year site assessment program Ocean Tech Services (OTS) recovered the Fishermen’s Energy floating-LiDAR buoy and mooring system from a BOEM interim lease area off southern New Jersey.
In accordance with the lease conditions, the developer is required to conduct a survey of the seafloor following the recovery of installed equipment to confirm the area was not adversely affected and that no buoy or mooring materials were left behind. OTS performed the post-recovery survey in accordance with agency requirements by collecting high-resolution side scan sonar data over the 1 square km area. Data post-processing, analysis and interpretation were performed by OTS. A final report was developed and submitted to BOEM to describe the survey methodology and demonstrate site clearance.
Mobilization was out of the OTS facility in Avalon, NJ and vessel services were provided by Northstar Marine (Avalon, NJ).
