OTS Provides LiDAR Services for Orsted in Avalon, New Jersey

Offshore wind developer Orsted has contracted OTS to install a land-based Leosphere WindCube LiDAR system in support of their wind resource assessment campaign for the development of the Ocean Wind Offshore Windfarm project.

The WindCube will operate atop a platform located at OTS’ waterfront facility in Avalon, New Jersey – the staging site for the two FLiDAR systems currently deployed offshore within the Ocean Wind lease area. Data will be transmitted on a fixed schedule directly from the WindCube to Orsted. The LiDAR was validated in Europe prior to being shipped to OTS for installation. OTS will provide installation, commissioning and technical support for the continued operation of the LiDAR.
